VEGAN: At Atemporal we refuse to use raw materials of animal origin in our collections. The main reason was not being able to guarantee the use of chromium in the tanneries, nor the traceability regarding the origin of the animals and their non-abuse. For this reason our designs are NOT available in leather, wool, feather or down.

VEGAN 1 · Wool? , NO!

To try to prevent sheeps from suffering from the Lucilia cuprina fly, the cattlemen undergo a procedure called mulesing. This consists of cutting large portions of skin in the area surrounding the anus of the young lambs in able to eliminate the folds where remains of stool accumulate. The accumulation of stools attracts flies. This mutilation is performed without anesthesia.

VEGAN 2 · Cushions filled with feathers? , NO!

There is a great controversy regarding the method of obtaining the duck or goose feathers that are used for sofa cushions. As indicated by the producers and as established by European regulations, animals are previously slaughtered in order to use their meat in the food industry and their feathers are used for stuffing. However, there are several environmental organizations that have denounced internationally the method of obtaining plumage, which in many cases can be carried out with the live bird and, therefore, causing enormous suffering to the animal. We take care of your Health: A study published by researchers at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital and the pulmonology group of the Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) in the prestigious British scientific journal "The Lancet Respiratory Medicine" shows that exposure to quilts and / or cushions filled with natural feathers, as well as birds and fungi in minimal but persistent amounts, is one of the causes of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a disease recognized in 1940 and of which the causes were not known.

VEGAN 3 · Leather? , NO!

Among the animals that suffer and are killed forclothing or furniture cladding, most are for leather production. This includes cows, bulls, pigs, lambs and sheep. They are sent to the slaughterhouse to obtain leather to meet public demand. Each year there are more than 300 million tanned skins of cows, and more than 500 million tanned skins of sheep and lambs. Animals killed by these skins suffer terribly throughout their lives, confined in tiny spaces in industrial units. Even the small percentage of animals that do not live in this confinement are severely damaged. They are often separated from their mothers, marked with hot irons (often on the face or legs, so that the skin does not show any damage). They are sent to slaughterhouses, where they experience stress and pain, and are deprived of their lives. Its skin is used regularly in the upholstery of sofas and cars. However, it is relatively easy to avoid leather in daily life. There are companies like Timeless that offer furniture made with other materials such as natural fabrics.

"At Atemporal we dedicate our greatest efforts to incorporate ecology into our company and exert less impact on the planet. Being responsible for the environment and animal welfare is one of the core values of our company and we will continue to strive to improve day by day.
